Dress Code is Free in Isalmic Republic

"May the Lord Ahuramazda Protect Iran from a hostile army, from famine and from Lie" - King Darius the Great.

"From ages five to twenty years Persian boys are trained in horsemanship, swordsmanship, archery, and telling the truth" - (Herodotus, 1.136).

"They consider telling lies more disgraceful than anything else, and, next to that, owing money. There are many reasons for their horror of debt, but the chief is their conviction that a man who owes money is bound also to tell lies." (Herodotus)

Many years later, the despisal for lies and liars was replaced by Taqieh. Made up by Shiite clergy, it gives Shiite Muslims a free hand to lie when and if, it is convenient.

I remember how proud I felt when the headmistress of my primary school in Iran, stood up for me and said "Potkin may do many things but he never lies". In Iran of today, telling the truth is no longer a virtue, it is a sign of naivity. Meet the Iranians that come from Iran these days and you soon realise that to lie, for them is a symbol of shrewdness. Call them a liar and they take no offense, yet they get offended if they are referred to as a porter(hamAl) or a construction worker(amaleh). How absurd!

And here is an example of an Islamic Republic statesman lying through his teeth. Esfandiar Rahim Moshayi, is the first deputy of the president of the Islamic Republic and the chief of tourism. In an interview with the Turkish daily, Sabah, and in reply to Alif Korpa's question on the compulsory Islamic dress code in Iran, he says "In Iran, you are free to choose to wear the Hejab or otherwise" He goes on further to say "This is purely a personal choice, no official will tell you off, if you are not wearing one. I reiterate there is no obligation regarding the Hejab"

Lol. He sounds like Baghdad Bob.
He should be filmed at the airport meeting a group of women stepping off the plane with no hijab, and followed around to see what happens.

The Islamic regime founded on lies and lives on lies.

It is sad to see Iranians so confused. Mixing up issues from 2,500 years ago and Herodotus with current affairs.

Whether you like it or not, whether you deny it or otherwise, pre-Islamic Iran is part of our heritage and contributes to our national identity.

To make a comment on how parts of that trait have turned completely the opposite is not in any way confusion, but it identifies people like you who have been manipulated by the colonials to think that Iran has no roots and a brief history, just like yourself.

Of course Iran has roots. I just thought you are a bit confused as you don't seem to be able to see things in the context of history.

Other countries have roots as well but they don't seem to get so mixed up and confused when discussing their current affairs. e.g. Herodotus said this..... or Helen of Troy said that ...or if Richard the Lion Heart was the prime minister ....

You are a bit like the dirty mullahs who always seem to quote someone from 1,500 years ago as if it was yesterday.

The context which you dont seem to understand, probably because envy has blocked your senses so much, is how the values of a nation have changed so much. Once this nation was known for its despise of lies, now to lie through one's teeth is a routine and this is practiced so blatantly by the country's statesmen all the way down, with the example so clearly illustrated in this post.

I am really sorry for you that you can not understand such a simple comparison. I am just glad that you seem to be the only one with that problem and such a huge chip on your shoulder. I really genuinely feel sorry for you. An anonymous non-entity with nothing to show for himself.

Again you are mixing thing up. Values of a nation?!! So if Tony Blair lies then the whole British nation is branded a liar?

Lets hope Ahuramazda helps your soul so that you gain a better understanding of politics.

Also lets hope all Persian boys learn to ride horses etc.

I dont think I need to say anything more, just your statement above says it all about you. An anonymous nobody, who has achieved nothing for himself in life, yet envy drives him to spend his sad life leaving such comments on someone's blog becaue you have nothing better to do with your very sad life.

The zeal to tell the truth was a value held dear by a nation. It was part of its character and even the enemies of the nation were impressed by it and wrote about it. Yet you want to compare that with horse riding. Pathetic beyond belief.

Take a mirror and look at yourself. You are the one who has nothing to do in life and have created a blog with such stupid arguements. Don't you have a better weapon against the mullahs than quoting Herodotus ?

You are the one who mentioned horse riding....!! which i thought was rather entertaining.

Mr. Pea brain anonymous, when you quote someone, you have to quote the entire sentence, but obviously the relative part of the quote from Herodotus was the Iranian value of telling the truth which has been eroded so much since.

Also lets see what your weapon against the mullahs is?

I will not upset you no more. You are probably doing your best.

I think your name is not Potkin. I think you are some ayatollah's son trying to portray yourself as opposition but in reality your mission is to discredit the opposition. Your name is probably something like Mohammad Al-Mashhadi.

Please remove that lady's picture and name from your blog. You are acting like the dirty mullahs.
